Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and assisting plant management in the areas of customer service, production, manufacturing, quality, safety, compliance, training and maintenance.

Production Supervisor

  • Ensure plant operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
  • Maintain compliance with all external regulatory agencies including FDA, DOT, EPA, OSHA, DHS, as well as all Company policies and procedures
  • Effectively schedule production of cylinder gases to meet internal and external requirements
  • Drive productivity throughout the operation to maximize plant capabilities and operational efficiency
  • Ensure the proper appearance, image, and security of the facility and equipment
  • Supervise personnel in a fair and consistent basis in order to help foster an atmosphere where employees are motivated, informed, and empowered to do their jobs ensuring that all decisions are consistent with the terms and conditions within the collective agreement
  • Manage employee activities in conjunction with company policies and procedures and the collective agreement; mitigate potential grievances
  • Timely and accurately complete all required reports, which may include product inventory, cylinder inventory, expense reports, financial reports KPI reports, Compliance Monitoring System, Work Orders, etc.
  • Assist in implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as required or as revisions or changes are made
  • Respond to after hour and weekend 24/7 emergency calls for plant alarms, employees, etc.
  • Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day operation for a team of employees to meet demand of both external and internal customers
  • Lead reliability, compliance, quality and safety programs for assigned area; ensure required government and/or environmental regulations are met
  • Ensure team is fully trained in, committed to, and conducts their activities in accordance with all aspects of Corporate Safety and Quality systems and requirements
  • Coordinate all quality and safety training for market area employees and maintain required records
  • Monitor production/manpower levels within area of responsibility to ensure continued efficiency while anticipating problems and assisting plant management with development contingencies
  • Identify issues and lead improvement plans in production processes, shift schedules, overtime levels, training, etc., reporting all activities to plant management
  • Manage and escalate equipment and product quality issues
  • Maintain adequate inventory of production supplies
  • Identify ways to reduce plant operating costs through the incorporation of Operational Excellence strategies
  • Handle routine personnel issues including training, coaching, and counseling subordinates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor Degree preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing plant environment
  • 2 years’ experience in managing and developing employees
SENIOR APPLICATIONS TECHNOLOGIST
 
Our client is a prominent Edmonton Process Fabricator with a 35+ year track record of delivering International and Domestic processing solutions to Tier 1 Gas and Oil companies. We are looking for a Senior Applications Technologist to lead the Applications team, assist the sales department as technical resource, and to participate in the design, estimating, and proposal development for new projects.
 
The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of process design, equipment sizing, process automation, cost estimation and fabrication of oil and gas processing equipment. Candidates must possess C.E.T. Certification, or have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. This position entails: supervision of the applications team, initial process and mechanical design, preparation of quotations, specification of equipment, valves and instrumentation, preparation of cost estimates and technical liaison with our sales department.

IROC Personnel is searching for a Senior Vessel Design Drafter to fill a full-time, permanent position with a well established Edmonton based Oil & Gas Fabrication client.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create P&ID’s from Application Engineering preliminaries
  • Prepare 2D/3D Design including GA’s of Pressure Vessels, Process Piping and Structural Steel Skids
  • Prepare fabrication drawings for review, approval and shop use
  • Prepare BOMs
  • Collate vendor information & drawings into designs
  • Provide Revisions to existing design drawings
  • Prepare final As-Built Drawings
  • Ensure drawings meet company design drafting & fabrication standards

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate from a recognized Drafting or Engineering Technology (Oil & Gas) program

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the full execution of projects from inception through to completion, ensuring projects run smoothly, on time and on budget, and that the customer is fully satisfied with the results. Electric Motor Systems Technician - EMST

Duties

  • Repair and rewind various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Properly implement the procedures of the Corp Quality System (ISO 9001) that apply to the rewind and mechanical departments.

Minimum Requirements

  • Journeyman Electric Motor Service Technician, or apprentice with at least two years rewind experience and enrolled in an apprenticeship program.
  • High school diploma.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and good electrical knowledge.
  • Good oral and written communication skills (English).

Manager - Electric Motor Repair Shop

Our Client has been selling and servicing industrial electric motors and generators in Alberta for over 60 years. We are currently looking for an experience Shop Manager to lead their Fort McMurray operations.

Duties
- Oversee daily branch operations.
- Manage production, assign staff, and oversee inventory.
- Support sales, and assist customer service as required.
- Hire, train, and mentor all shop staff and repair technicians.
- Provide Leadership to the entire Fort Mac team, and drive performance to achieve and exceed branch budget.

Minimum Requirements

- Journeyman Electric Motor Service Technician or Electrician, or Millwright with at least ten years experience in Electric Motor repair and rewind.

Your challenges:
You are responsible for the leadership of the daily maintenance activities for the business unit assigned which includes OSB, lumber, or power. You will also provide guidance and expertise to the Site Maintenance team in the development and implementation of maintenance programs to ensure that overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) meets or exceeds established maintenance targets.
 
Your primary responsibilities will include the following:
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate maintenance activities, organize shutdowns and other major tasks;
  • Maintain liaison between the operations and maintenance departments;
  • Utilize the Maintenance & Supply Chain Best Practices in conjunction with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for processing work orders, purchase requisitions,  weekly schedules, PM's, and updating the equipment database;
  • Ensuring the availability of parts, materials (kitting as required) and special tools are available for the work order system
  • Facilitate weekly and daily planning meetings;
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance work with appropriate operations, maintenance, engineering, and safety staff;
  • Fully utilize current information, procedures, and work methods to positively impact equipment reliability;
  • Provide technical leadership as necessary to production and/or maintenance employees;
  • Demonstrate a full commitment to the safety process and policies, including the integration of safety into all planning functions;
  • Actively pursue measures that improve operational efficiency, cost reduction, and equipment reliability;
  • Maintain a good working relationship with management, staff, and hourly employees.

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; or Red Seal Millwright
